Keeping it in the family: Kyle King

The name King is synonymous with Purdue Basketball. From George King leading the Boilermakers to the Final Four in 1969, to Bob King serving as an assistant coach for 14 years, the family has been influential in Purdue Basketball’s history. Now a walkon freshman, Kyle hopes to renew the King legacy. After all, his blood runs Black and Gold.

In addition to immediate members of his family having Purdue ties on the hardwood, additional family members have made an impact on the gridiron as well. His uncle is Gary Danielsen, Purdue's starting quarterback in 1971 and 1972, eventually ranking fourth in Detroit Lions history in passing yards and touchdowns. He is now CBS' top college football analyst.

King chose Purdue because of the family environment and the legacy of the King name at Purdue. Now, he hopes to carve out his own niche on the hardwood and help the Boilermakers reach a place that his grandfather took them.
